The American Red Cross LGI/T review course is required for all instructors and instructor trainers as part of the recertification process. Course includes a review of administrative information, land and water skill review session.
Optional base level lifeguard test out available. Choose the option with base during registration to complete your lifeguard certificate testing in the same session.
Pre-requisite: Current or no more than 1 year expired American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor/Trainer certification. Instructors must have taught or co-taught a full or review core course within the last 2 years. Instructor Trainers must have taught or co-taught a full or 2 review instructor courses within the last 2 years. It is the participant’s responsibility to ensure all prerequisites have been met.
Participants are required to have: Instructor manual, participant manual, hip pack, separate adult & infant rescue masks or Seal Easy Mask
To Obtain Certification:
- Attend all class sessions (no exceptions)
- Demonstrate all rescue skills to the standard
- Pass written exam with at least an 80%- One Opportunity
Successful lifeguard course participants will receive a 2 year Lifeguarding Instructor/Instructor Trainer certification renewed on the date of the course.
Optional Base level testing requirements will follow those of the Lifeguarding Instructor Manual for the 2 year Lifeguarding/CPR/AED/First Aid certification, including prerequisites, skill competency, final skill scenario assessments, and written exams.
