Babysitter Training American Red Cross course recommended for 11-15 year olds.
To provide youth who are planning to babysit with the knowledge and skills necessary to safely and responsibly give care for children and infants. This training will help participants to develop leadership skills; learn how to develop a babysitting business, keep themselves and others safe and help children behave; and learn about basic child care and basic first aid.
Certification Requirements: Attend all class sessions, Participate in all skill sessions and activities, Demonstrate competency in all observable skills.
Pediatric CPR/AED/FA American Red Cross course recommended for 11-15yo who have successfully completed the Babysitter Training. A 2 year certification will be given to those who attend all course sessions, demonstrate skill competency, and achieve an 80% or better on the written exam. There will be an online course required to be completed prior to this date for the Pediatric CPR/AED/First Aid certification.
The purpose of the First Aid/CPR program is to train lay responders to overcome any reluctance to act in emergency situations and to recognize and care for life-threatening respiratory or cardiac emergencies. The program provides the lay responder with the knowledge and skills necessary in an emergency to help sustain life and to minimize pain and the consequences of injury or sudden illness until professional medical help arrives and takes over.
Learn how to recognize and care for breathing and cardiac emergencies in infants and children, skills include rescue breathing, airway obstruction techniques and CPR. Learn how to respond to common first aid emergencies, including burns, cuts, severe bleeding, and other injuries, treat sudden illness, minimize the effects of shock, and more.
