Babysitter Training with Child/Infant CPR/First Aid – Blended

This is a blended learning class; completion of an online course will be required prior to the in person training.

Babysitter Training American Red Cross course recommended for 11-15 year olds who are planning to babysit with the knowledge and skills necessary to safely and responsibly give care for children and infants. This training will help participants to develop leadership skills; learn how to develop a babysitting business, keep themselves and others safe and help children behave; and learn about basic child care and basic first aid.

Pediatric CPR/AED/FA American Red Cross : The purpose is to train lay responders to overcome any reluctance to act in emergency situations and to recognize and care for life-threatening respiratory or cardiac emergencies. The program provides the lay responder with the knowledge and skills necessary in an emergency to help sustain life and to minimize pain and the consequences of injury or sudden illness until professional medical help arrives and takes over. Learn how to recognize and care for breathing and cardiac emergencies in infants and children, skills include rescue breathing, airway obstruction techniques and CPR. Learn how to respond to common first aid emergencies, including burns, cuts, severe bleeding, and other injuries, treat sudden illness, minimize the effects of shock, and more.

Certification Requirements: Complete online course, attend all in person class time, Participate in all skill sessions and activities, Demonstrate proficiency in all skills.
To obtain a 2 year American Red Cross CPR/First Aid certification, participants must demonstrate proficient physical skills according to American Red Cross requirements.
** Students must bring a lunch, snacks, hydration, writing utensil**
