We’ve said this time and time again. Sudden cardiac arrest does not discriminate and can happen at any time. After a police detective collapses from cardiac arrest while training for a half marathon, the police department is swayed to install and train on Automated External Defibrillators.
The detective was fortunate enough that there were people nearby, including a doctor and another police officer, who knew CPR and were able to use an AED on him. He survived.
Don’t let this be you. Don’t wait until after a tragic incident occurs to take action. Be proactive. Unfortunately, it’s not a matter of if but when.
